Clavada
La Clavada* belongs to Mora Verón’s *Re-autotratos* series: emotional, physical, and symbolic portraits that explore new ways of treating oneself, seeing oneself, and rewriting one’s own story.
This sculpture is created with hundreds of nails, each one individually driven into carved wood, tracing a silhouette that does not need a face to express everything it carries.
It stands on a beveled mirror base that duplicates the figure, projecting and transforming it. The mirror opens multiple interpretations: what is seen, what is reflected, and what lies beneath. A play between presence and absence, light and shadow, perception and perspective.
The texture is tactile and intense. Its presence transforms any space. It speaks of pain, transformation, beauty, and strength. Of what remains, and what is rebuilt.
